Тема урока: «Вклад выдающейся личности в национальную историю и культуру. Говорение». (“Contribution of the great person to the national history and culture”)
Цели:
– образовательная: создание условий для отработки речевых навыков и умений учащихся в рамках указанной темы, в результате чего у учащихся будет сформировано умение представлять выдающихся людей Беларуси в условиях иноязычного межкультурного общения;
– развивающая: обеспечение условий для развития таких способностей учащихся, как умение анализировать, обобщать информацию и делать выводы;
– воспитательная: содействовать воспитанию культуры общения, бережного отношения к национальной истории и культуре, развитию интереса к изучению иностранного языка.
Методическая цель: демонстрация применения коммуникативной и интерактивной технологий для повышения уровня социокультурной компетенции учащихся.
Тип урока: комбинированный.
Формы организации деятельности учащихся: фронтальная, индивидуальная, групповая.
Технологии обучения: коммуникативная, интерактивная.
Методы и приемы: словесные, наглядные, практические, проблемные.
Средства обучения: презентация «Вклад выдающейся личности в национальную историю и культуру», раздаточный и иллюстративный материал (карточки с заданиями), видеозаписи.

1.1 Организационный момент
Good morning dear pupils! I’m glad to see you. I hope that you are ready for the lesson and your mood is good. How are you? And what about you? Who is absent today? What day is it today? And what date is it today?

What things are necessary to be famous and successful? What is your opinion?
1.3 Мотивация и целеполагание
Look at the photos and try to guess the topic of our lesson. Do you know these people? Where are they from?
You’re absolutely right, the topic of our lesson is “Contribution of the great person to the national history and culture“.
Name a person (people) who:
- became an Olympic champion/ – participated in Eurovision song contest/ – are popular writers/ – got the Nobel prize/ – is a leader of a famous Belarusian band/ – are outstanding tennis players/ – copied books and helped the poor/ – was one of the first book printers in Eastern Europe. Every nation has its heroes. Every country has people who are known all over the world for their achievements in sport, literature, music, science and other spheres.
We’re going to revise everything you know about the most famous people of Belarus. Some of them were born in Belarus and did their best here, some popular people have Belarusian roots and some of them moved to Belarus from other countries. And you’ll show how you can talk about them.
So our aims are: – to know famous people who were born in Belarus,
– to respect their achievements, – to be proud of them, – to share this information with other people in English.

2.1 Работа над развитием аудитивных навыков и навыков диалогической речи
One more celebrity got the title Hero of Belarus. And this person is the first woman in the history of Belarus who deserved this honourary title. Do you have any ideas? What do you know about Darya Domracheva? While watching try to focus your attention to her personality.

Discussion: How does she describe herself? Is she still happy during bad days? Who influences Darya? Is it hard for her to be such a big star in Minsk?

2.2 Физкульминутка
It was great, thank you! I think it’s high time to have a rest. You’ve been working hard and now let’s relax a little and do some exercises for your eyes and head. Please, repeat after me (accompanied by music):
Close your eyes. Count to 10. Open your eyes and blink. Look up, down, right and left (2-3 times). Look at your nose, then at the blackboard (2–3 times).
Head up, down, right, left slowly (4 times).
2.3 Совершенствование навыков монологического высказывания. Проверка домашнего задания
Your hometask was to prepare a short report about any outstanding Belarusian person from Mogilev or any other Belarusian city. Now you have to go to the blackboard and make a short presentation. In their turn, your groupmates should guess their names.
2.4 Совершенствование навыков просмотрового чтения и диалогического высказывания
Look at the screen. This man was born in Minsk, but most of his life he lived in the USA and became really an outstanding person. Do you know him?
This is Louis Mayer, the most influential person in Hollywood in the 1st part of the 20th century. There is a text about him in your pupils` sheets. Read it.
There are some gaps in your texts. Make two groups. Make a list of questions for the representatives of the 2nd group to get the necessary information. Mix together and ask the questions in order to get the information you need. (Appendix, ex.3/ Приложение, упр.3)
